Yesterday was the first session (character gen / game launch) of the WH40K game I have joined. I like my character plus the party design (we're all Adeptus Mechanicus with different roles) and it has an intriguing premise. I meant to post this much earlier in the week, but on the second anniversary of our afternoon tea in London... we did afternoon tea in Windsor at the Sir Christopher Wren.
Today we wrapped presents and I finished the Christmas cake. bateleur braved Tescos for the Last Shop Before Christmas (we hope). Reeve slept (mostly).
I've made a chocolate cake for bateleur's birthday. It's always a slightly fragile cake (it works on egg whites), but worthwhile. And bateleur has interesting (other) food plans for dinner.
I generally enjoyed my forties. They started well (The Fat Duck) and included plenty of roleplaying, writing, gaming (Secret Worlders!) and cake. Plus an angry cat

The last, double window opened to show a fireplace with stockings. Overall, it's been a pretty, wildlife calendar. Not all that seasonal, but nice enough in its way.
