Yesterday's window was Mary and Joseph on the donkey.

I'm finding that watching bateleur play Hearthstone: Battlegrounds is very entertaining. I don't know the main game very well, but Battlegrounds is fast, fun and seems to have fewer cards. I'm starting to recognise popular ones including "I am junk!"

chrisvenus, glittertigger, quisalan and zandev came over.

Tea and coffee and mince pies, Eldritch Horror, mulled wine, more Eldritch Horror, Lamb casserole, red wine and mango cake, even more Eldritch Horror, dessert wine and turkish delight and then we finished Eldritch Horror.

That game took longer than I thought.

On Wednesday I got up at 6am (too early for me) and headed off to London to catch a train to Birmingham. I was off to see the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine in Birmingham, which meant Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Today is the last day of my fortnight holiday as I'm back in the office tomorrow. It's been an excellent two weeks as I've managed to do pretty much everything I wanted, both in terms of household chores and in terms of Enjoyable Stuff. Christmas 2001, my parents bought me a murder mystery jigsaw and a jigsaw mat. In between hospital visits (first to Winchester and then to St Peters), I put the jigsaw together. When the twins finally came home I rolled it up into the mat, still not quite finished. Today I finally got around to unrolling it, finishing it and solving the mystery ( Read more... )

Yesterday was my birthday. Family arrived with presents, then my parents babysat so that bateleur and I could go out for a meal with chrestomancy and Frances.

The babies were, as always, overjoyed to see grandparents. bateleur finished making their double swing in the back garden, so much time was spent playing on it. Beatrice loved it - the higher and faster the better - ( Read more... )
