     Travelling around Sri Lanka isn't too hard.  You just need to figure out where you're going first, then look on a map to see what large towns are nearby.  After that it's just a question of getting a bus in the right direction and making sure the conductor (or driver) know to tell you when to get off (if you're not going to the last stop).  ( Read more... )

I got back a few hours ago from climbing Adam's Peak (aka Sri Pada).  Details to follow later, but I had a pretty good time, and the bottom ends of my quads are killing me (my knees aren't exactly happy either).

     Well, the three hour, 120km bus ride from Negombo to Kandy cost me all of 190 Rs (CAD 1.80).  Frank gave me a quick ride from Wennappuwa to the bus terminal, and we thought I might need to wait for an hour, but a bus to Kandy was leaving as we pulled up, so I hopped on it.  The fare was only 95 Rs, but I had to pay double because of my ( Read more... )

     Well, there are times when being a World Traveller(tm) is incredibly fun.  The adventure, the excitement, the romance.  And then there are the times when bouncing from place to place is one continuing series of headaches.  The past few days have contained both.  I've already posted about the Unawatuna road trip.
