We've been back a few days, but this is the first time I've had the time, energy and peace and quiet to write an update about our visit to York for my birthday.

I'm feeling pretty meh at the moment. Hair dye is currently percolating (technical term...ish) because I had planned on going clubbing tonight for the first time this year, but I'm feeling tired and fed up and I don't think I can actually be bothered.

Thought I might try running updates here and on Facebook more or less in parallel, since this is properly searchable and Facebook isn't, but almost nobody seems to read LJ any more. ;)

Well, that week largely didn't suck. My five-day hearing finished 'early' every day, meaning I only did two hours' overtime for the week, which I should be able to claw back next week (as I will have two office days; maybe three if my 'early cover' on Monday turns into no cover).
