Ushering in the Spring....
Spring is just around the corner..
how do I know? because the Chinese celebrate Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring festival, in 2 days time. It's based on the Lunar Calendar and signifies the first new moon of 2008, so its actually really accurate.
Being the Chinese that I am, this is another one of those major calendar events that I actually have to actively participate in..
Strangely tho, I really look forward to this CNY, I guess mainly because I didn't really get the chance to have one last year. Pizza and Mountain Dew really doesn't compare to the festive dishes I've been so used to for years now. Yea.. its always about the food isn't it?
But other than that, there's also the whole new beginnings thing (basically a good excuse to shop for new stuff), the Spring Cleaning thing (I actually helped out this year!) and then also the house visiting (and collecting money) bit that one might not necessarily enjoy.. but somewhat misses when its not around. Perhaps I'm traditional like that. I don't really know. What I do know is that I'll be spending this CNY with my family, and thats what matters most.
