The good: got my sewing machine back!

The bad: it'll be another couple of weeks before I get the embroidery part back... :(

Ok... keeping my brain elsewhere - had a brainiac idea. Have fabric for a snuggly coat, but was trying to wrap my brain around how to make it, and when I can get with someone who will show me how... than it hit me (cuz I didn't duck in time) I could probably use the same basic pattern for the tunic I just made, and cut up the center... duh.

I need some direction from my wonderful sewing minded friends.

The wonderful uaekiwi brought me some pretty jingle chookies, and an absolutely gorgeous sari panel. Oooh it's so pretty!!! But I need advice on how to finish off the edges. It's silk, and I've got another one I got from a friend who brought it back from Iraq that I need to finish too...Help
