2010 in Review

Sports:

Olympics: The Olympics gave me short track speed skating, JR, Jordan, Travis, Aly and the rest of them. I actually tried a few of their techniques and still want to try out a pair of speed skates someday.

May the gods and Texas get me through today.

We planned the funeral today. It's going to be on Wednesday. The viewing is in the morning, not the night before, which is good because that means it's all over in one day. Somehow I got put in charge of the church services, which is fine with me. I'm going to be doing the readings. I was given a book and told to pick out one from the Old Testament ( Read more... )

My mother has had the same best friend since they were 12. They're now 50. It's been along time. She's been around my whole life like another aunt. And we found out yesterday that her father is in ICU on a ventilator with a collapsed lung and is septic on top of all of his other medical problems. He isn't expected to make it past next week. Hospice has been called in for my grandfather. They don't know when, but it could be very soon. We all keep randomly crying, but it's really a good thing. He's not in that body anymore. He's not himself. He's unhappy, he tells us that he wants to die. He's stopped eating, which they say is a sign. It's close. And I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm ( Read more... )

Christmas came and went. I survived it. That's all I was looking to do. We went to the Nursing Home and mostly it was nothing like Christmas at all.
