Hospice has been called in for my grandfather. They don't know when, but it could be very soon. We all keep randomly crying, but it's really a good thing. He's not in that body anymore. He's not himself. He's unhappy, he tells us that he wants to die. He's stopped eating, which they say is a sign. It's close. And I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm ( Read more... )

*hugs you tight* Even if you're mentally prepared for it, I don't wish that wait on anybody. We just had hospice pull an all nighter a few days ago because my great grandmother couldn't breathe. Every call from anyone staying at her house makes me jumpy. *empathises so damn much with you*

I hope it's painless for him and your family pulls together and is loving right now.

*hug* I'm so sorry, hun. I went through something similar with my maternal grandmother when I was in high school. I know how hard it is, the waiting.

I'm hoping the best for you and everyone.

Sad to hear, my dear. I went through this with my Granny, and the my Dad. It was the same with them. Sad to see them go, but relieved to see the end to their pain.

It was good to sit with the family and say whatever popped into our heads. Many times one of us would recall something everyone else had forgotten, and we'd all laugh or cry or hug or whatever.

Take care!

I'm so sorry, honey. *hugs* I know how hard it can be to see the grandparent you love so much who isn't the same one you grew up with.

I'll send some positive thoughts for you and your family.
