After a long day of being the only cashier (having to ask for back-up several times for each crowd), I made a boo-boo making change.  (The customer agreed that we were talking and we both forgot if she gave me  $2 0r $20.) The drawer had to be counted, which took over 20 minutes.  I am so grateful for the patience of the customer.  I just wonder ( Read more... )

  So, I volunteered to go to another JoAnn store and do 'overnights" (stocking the store after it's closed).  The shifts are Sunday thru Thursday, 9:00 pm to 6:00 am.  No problem, really.  The silly part is that I'm am literally scared - like new job scared.  I've done a couple overnights at my store so I know the drill.  There's just something ( Read more... )

Well, another day in paradise.  The weather's nice and things are going well.

Except - hours at work.  I had a whole 8-1/2  hours this week.  Ditto last week.  AND, as I haven't been scheduled on Saturday for quite awhile, I figured I would have 3/20 off.  But Noooo!  I'm scheduled  for a full 8-hour shift that day.  Why the beef?  I would like ( Read more... )
