masterlist of my fics Been searching for a defined style or voice and I've been having difficulty writing sustained, longer fics If I could get tips / ideas as to why I'm struggling with that I would definitely appreciate it!
you have a peculiar way with words that i personally adore, however it is easy to see that you're very reluctant to start/commit to a long (multi-chaptered) story. i really hope you consider trying it out one day, especially since you do particularly well with imagery.
I think you have really well constructed and in-depth storylines, and a really rich exploration of characters' personalities. I think you're also quite versatile in changing voices to suit the genre of fic, which is lovely to see. My main criticism perhaps would be to see a transition into a more tell than show approach with more light-hearted fics and definitely some instances of a greater reliance on dialogue - not necessarily a bad thing, but something to be aware of. Extensive dialogue can sometimes detract from the flow of the story, or just remove from deeper emotions? (But banter is fun to read too, so I guess look for a balance!) You're a really wonderful writer!
it's been awhile since i read from you but i went back and checked out some of your new ones and re-read the old ones that i love.
you're fantastic with dialogue. you have a way with humor and banter that i adore in fics that are supposed to be lighthearted and stay that way. however, like the previous anon, you tend to get away with yourself with what your characters are saying and sometimes, a reader is left just hearing voices and not really seeing the bigger picture. try putting yourself in your characters' shoes and work from there. find a balance between telling your readers what to see in a moment and showing them a scene.
in any case, i look forward to all of your future/current works!
i haven't read all of your fics but from the ones i did, i think your strength is definitely your characterization. your characters build your story, that's one thing i noticed reading your fics. it is a good thing because for fics with only few characters (eg choux pastry hearts) there is depth in your characters that makes them real and sometimes relatable. fics with an ensemble cast (eg for all dancers) are also as wonderful because although there is less depth, you still allow each and every character to be introduced properly and have their own opportunity to shine. you created these people so well that it's like you know them personally, and it's probably why the previous anon commenters pointed out your dialogues. i'd like to see you write a story with less dialogues and more descriptions, just to see how differently it would turn out from your usual fics!
all of my fic is at pooswag (you can make fun of my comm name it's okay :P)
i would definitely like feedback on my strengths and weaknesses in my writing! also if you would comment on my characterization, writing style (or lack of one? i still feel like i don't have one) and dialogue, that would be very helpful.
I'll be using your most recent posts in your comm as basis for this crit so don't think of this as the end-all-be-all criticism for your writing. I haven't read everything you've written but from what I can gather from the ones I have you're very into the kind of disjointed style of writing that I find interesting and fun to read in moderate doses.
I really like that there seems to be a rhythm to your sentence construction. A beat that a reader can't help but follow once they start getting into the meat of things in one of your posts. It's great because that is one of the things that hooks a reader in, but sometimes you start a new beat midway and it kind of rattles the flow if the reader isn't careful enough to watch out for it.
You also tend to write kind of run-on(?) sentences. for example this line from tired mechanical heart: "he sleeps fitfully, wakes up and falls asleep and wakes up again, a restless cycle that continues until the morning sun shines through his heavy eyelids." ---> Now this? This is too long and redundant for

thanks so much for leaving feedback! i really liked what you said about my sentence structure, and i'll try to avoid making my sentences so long (less commas!) in the future. also, about tenses: do i switch between them? how bad is it? i used to have a big problem with it but i'd like to think that it's gotten better... perhaps i missed something somewhere. i write in present tense in pretty much every fic except for "throw me in the deep end, watch me drown" where i switched between past and present tense to indicate time switch, so... anyway, thanks again! your advice really means a lot to me.
judging from a very loose skim through some of your fics (so don't take this to mean for all of them because i didn't rea them all), i'd say you have a very disjointed, poetic style that has some really lovely imagery at times. your descriptions have a lot of depth and your ability to create worlds without actually explaining the world itself is extremely admirable

i post fic at a number of places but for k-pop, my work can be found in ichinori and my asianfanfics profile. here is a masterlist if you prefer.
i welcome any and all concrit. it's been so long since i've written anything so i'm bound to be lacking once my schedule frees up and i'm able to write. preemptive crit may help wonders. :)
my fic is at hansumdo, but here's my masterlist, if that makes things easier! (though some of my older fics aren't as representative of my writing anymore)
i'm open to anything you have to say about my writing, but i'd love opinions on what i'm doing well and what i'm not doing well on? i'm going through a bit of a writing slump, so any feedback is greatly appreciated!
I really really adore your writing and do believe I have read almost everything you wrote! I love the way you play with words in your fics, how you can put two words so similar in spelling but very different in definition side by side and create a smooth transition from one idea to another. I also really enjoy the vivid imagery you bring to your work, and how you are able to describe so much with so little.
However, maybe it's because I'm just not the greatest at understanding stories but sometimes your plots can be a little complicated to fully comprehend, although when this happens I often find myself reading your work again until I eventually begin to see the meaning. I think your dialogue has improved a lot since some of your older works, though! But tbh, even if your stories don't have much dialogue in them I still think they're absolutely lovely because of your flawless prose. You're a fantastic writer.
Hope you get over your writing slump soon and always looking forward to your works! :)
You have the lyrical style and a magical way of weaving plot that few possess. It's almost idyllic, reading your work, because it's so easy to get lost in the stories you create. I would love, however, for you to be more... concrete with your plotlines and build them more steadily. Sometimes you start so slow with it and then suddenly end so quick that a reader's left scratching her/his head and wondering what the hell just happened. I'd also love if you tried your hand on writing a multi-chaptered fic. Could be good practice for you to flesh out a unique plotline.

find time to actually write and don't delete what you've actually written because you don't think it's good enough after an initial editing read
