Anyway, I finally looked at the updated Patterns of Fashion tonight. It took a while to look at because it made me wonder what I'm doing with my life, but it's totally worth it for the whackadoodle 1790s gown. Bizarre construction and glued on silver spots. I love it!

Quite typically the book I ordered (Bear Brand and Bucilla Blue Book vol. 41) didn't have a needle gauge, but I'm still happy to have it! Since it's mine, and not a digital copy, I can share from it, so two pictures below. I like the recommendation to not slip a stitch unless told. The new Patterns of Fashion came today! Of course, looking at it makes me tired. I'll have to wait a bit. This doesn't bode well for sewing.

And! We won the house! And Nevada is so blue! I was ignoring the senate, so I'm content :)

I've wanted to read Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell for ages. I finally am now, and last night came across a scene in the Pineapple pub.  This made me stop for a moment--the Pineapple was the pub in the last book I read--The Water Room, which is the second in the Bryant and May/Peculiar Crimes Unit series that I'm currently rereading.

The 1920s beaded bag book arrived yesterday. It's mostly crocheted, but has some very pretty knitting patterns. A few use a purse frame, which I have one of and have forgotten what plans I initially had for it. I wonder if there's any chance I can bead the dress and knit a purse before Costume College?
