I hate benign toilet flushes. Why do I call them benign? Because they feel your shit gets a raw deal if flushed out of the toilet. Nothing is more irritating than seeing a blob of shit bobbing up and down after you have flushed.

I was at the Kotilingeshwara temple in Kammasandra today, accompanying Appa and Amma. I literally went there out of curiousity to see so many idols, than out of any devotion (I don't have any too). And boy! they have quite a collection. They have about 86 lakh idols installed. You just see them everywhere.

GMail should have a filter - action feature i.e. I should be able to filter messages based on a criteria and apply actions (delete, archive, label etc.) to all of them one go.  Just like mutt's operate on tagged messages.  It would be one mighty useful feature.  The current interface of 50 messages per page is sometimes very limiting.

It is election time again and Amma has been doling out gifts, development schemes, employee bonuses, salary hikes and what not. But are they enough to win? Time will only tell. Spent a lot of time at home with family for Deepavali this time. Doc-brother came down from Chennai. Amma had come in a few days before Deepavali to prepare the bakshanamsAfter about 8 years, we bought fireworks, the display types and not the noisy ones. One of our college seniors, Karthikeyan (affectionately called Kuchi, because of his lean build) succumbed to injuries after meeting with a rather trivial accident on Friday. From what I learnt from my friends, it was because he did not wear a helmet. He suffered serious injury to his head and succumbed to it ( Read more... )
