I can't write to music. If there are words it messes me up. I CAN and sometimes DO write to music that has no lyrics, but usually my favorite sound when I write is silence. I spent a tiny chunk of today actually writing! (Yay!) Working right now on Chapter 36 of "DUST" (yes, I'm several chapters ahead of you guys. Just so you know that they ARE written. I promise). I should be a lot farther, but first there was writer's block, and then there was Real Life, and then MORE Real Life...

So, I'm writing, writing, writing. And also editing like whoa, because my posting day for seasonal_spuffy  is in, precisely, a week.

But that's what I want to write about: conflict. Specifically I want to write about conflict in fanfic, because it's something that I think not enough fic authors understand.

There are times when I sit and stare at whatever it is I'm writing and wonder What Happens Next? And then I stare at it some more and wish it would hurry up and write itself, because I really want to know, dammit.

Whenever I'm stuck, that's the question that I ask myself: What Happens Next? WHN? is, possibly, the reason my stories get finished. ( Read more... )
