Project notes and more

Got kind of a late start yesterday, mostly due to my own inertia, but also due to Delay of Game Due To Deer. Watching the deer nibbling around the berm was cool, but the best was the little button-buck grazing by the garden & facing off against LittleGirl. She was, yes, stalking the deer; he responded by doing the hoof-stamping thing that deer do. They did that for a bit, then she pretended to be fascinated by something in the long grass nearby, until something moved and startled them both into jumping away. It was absolutely adorable.

I finally had to go out, to praise Cat3 for bringing us a mole (good kitty!), which inevitably spooked the deer back into the woods. And then I could finally get to work.

I got the rest of the siding up, including the piece around the corner that I hadn't planned on replacing until it disintegrated under my hand. Didn't get it painted, unfortunately, and only did half the caulking (I ran out of caulk), so I had to put up plastic again. Argh.

Today, it rained. And I took the afternoon off to try to write, with limited success.

Tomorrow, I aim to caulk and paint. And then go help Mom move into the condo for the winter, which should be interesting.

Then, I can start putting the deck back together. Trim and water-flow remediation (whatever combination of overhang and gutter I finally decide on) come after that, on the grounds that both will be far easier to do if I have somewhere to stand while I do them.
