Too many updates today (actually this is only the second but there have been many more in my head). I am mildly cranky this evening because I put my lower back out lugging my case onto the train at Sheffield, and now I'm in pain and can't move properly, which isn't life threatening, but is annoying.
Downstairs are having a party and playing some rather funky sounding jazz - it's nice to have a bit of groove going on but Katrina's face when they started the music was a picture (a scowl along with a comment about how rude it was for other people to be having more fun than us). She makes me laugh.
I'm getting through Bleak House and really enjoying the way that the character Richard thinks about money - he considers every possible expense he could potentially have encountered, and then the ones that he hasn't actually had to pay out, decides that he has saved that money and therefore has it 'spare', and it can be spent on anything he likes. Fantastic philosophy. So my taxi home from the station (cf the aforementioned back injury) could potentially have cost £50 but actually it only cost £25 (I must live more centrally in London than I thought) so by Richard's method I now have £25 spare, to spend on frivolities like new shoes and chocolate.
Oh yes, the other thing. I think I have a new acronym. Can't think for the life of me what to call him though. As Russell Brand would say, 'Excitin', ain't it?'
injury,
acronyms,
money
