Neat v2.0 - The Weekend That Was...
Had a nice one... pooped out for sure now... but good times good times good times...
On Friday I met up with some of the guys to see the new Bill Mahr flick, Religulous. It's EXCELLENT. You might think it's just a mockery of organized religion and the faith business (and it is) but it goes beyond that and does a nice turn towards the end of the movie. I was depressed, nonplussed, frustrated, elated and inspired in seeing it. My friend Pete from MD who I knew only through Flickr was in town so he joined us and afterward we headed out for sushi with Matt and Henry. Good food and some great conversation were had. After that me and Pete had a drink at Pecs and then called it a night. Sure was good to meet you Pete! Come back anytime!
On Saturday I headed up to Laguna to spend time with my Mom, Aunt, and Grandmother. We went shopping at the mall and had lunch at PF Chang's. I think I'm my Grandmother's new personal shopper. She kept coming back to me for my opinion: "Oh, I like that - it's colorful and totally you" vs "That looks like a black bathrobe - sooo not a good look for you - take it away"... hehe. It was nice to see them all again and it had been too long. When we got back we watched a DVD that had been made about my Grandfather in which he told stories about being a merchant marine at the tail end of World War II. It was really interesting. He's quite a man at age 88! I gave my Mom her birthday present (a Wii Fit) and then headed up to Disney to meet up with some of the guys.
I told her it was really hot right now but Grandma just wasn't into this look...
The park was busy but I did get in a few rides and saw some of the SD gays. John and I didn't stay in the park all that late. Instead we headed over to Dave's room for a beer or two and some pizza and boy talk with bears from all over.
Today John and I got up at about 6:15am and made it to the park at 6:45 (it opened at 6:30). Magic Kingdom was open early because it was closing at 5pm for Miley Cyrus' Sweet 16 (Suck It Miley!). To honor her they had a nice walk near Thunder Mountain adorned with large inflatable dildos. Classy! We met up with many of the gays and road lots and lots of rides in MK and in CA Adventure. I just had an excellent time. Was great to see the bears and friends from all over. I had to split a little early because of work but now that I'm home (7pm) I'm kind of glad to just be here relaxing before the work week starts again.
