After two normals days at school this week I wake up Wednesday morning and yet again get a 6am call on the cell... honestly those make me nervous they are never good... This voice mail however was to let me know not to come in to work that day ... the school was experiencing some electrical issues... so as I log on I notice the shelby county board flicker stating the same thing... So I think okay -- take the boys to school and get the day off...what to do with this added time... I use it to the fullest and start ripping out carpet... and replacing the flooring in the boys room -- along with mother's help... we have always seemed to tackle projects that most would never... but in our projects we always have the most fun... lots of laughs... and a added feeling of accomplishment when the job is done... of coarse Mark and daddy are oversee these whelms of ours... but they approved and Daddy helped me finish off with quarter round and cutting my wood... So after a day of getting this started I find out that Helena's City Sewage System had flooded our school... 60% of the school was damaged and we have three more days off...We will not be returning to classes until Tuesday... They have called in the clean up team and are making sure it is completely safe before we return ... but I can not imagine being on that clean up team... ugh!!! So we have finished the boys room and this will help Eli with his asthma and allergies and it looks so good... the boys enjoyed sleeping in the living room for a night and dannah put on her dancing shoes and did a dance for us on the new wood floors... funny!! She wants her room next... and yes that will come... but for now I am feeling very relaxed and rested after my days off... I have enjoyed eating lunch with Eli and getting to drop off and pick up the boys again from school... if I had too many days I would get use to just being mommy and housekeeper... It is amazing how much more I can do without work hours getting in the way of those task... but on the up side I will always get summers and holidays off... so I am not complaining!!!
A few funny things that the kids have done this week... Eli is trying his skills of break dancing out on his p.e. coach ... and says that this will make all the girls love him... which has proven true he has had a visitor twice this week at our door after school -- he goes out and speaks to her then comes right back in -- when I asked what she wanted he says "just to see if I was going to be a school the next day?" He could careless and shows no interest in her at all but it has been funny to watch her walk up to the door and knock... (note this is not the type of thing a gal should do -- so later in life this will be the sorta thing I frown upon - in fact it is the boys place to seek after the girl).
Cole asked one of his teachers "you can come to a sleepover at my house - we'll ask your mom" -- what a sweet little man... he has a new thing you can not tell him "no" -- you have to say "just a minute" -- so if I even start to say that word or he thinks I am going to he says "stop you have to say just a minute" -- once I say those magic words he is fine!!! Life is smooth sailing!!! He also offered my mother some insurance the other day ...
Cole says to grandmother, "do you have a car?" she says,"no" - he says,"do you have a truck?" she says, "yes!" then he asked, "are you a good driver? have you had any wreaks?" she reply's, "yes i am a good drive and I have not had any wreaks." he says, "alright, we can set you up with some good insurance fast and easy!" Too many geico commercials we presume!
Dannah has been all about picking out her want list for santa clause already...barbie everything...she plays with her barbies and babies all day and all night... She wants furniture for her doll house this year... and she will tell you which rooms barbie needs...but she is not satisfied with just one house -- her friends need a house next door...lol -- we have no room for that!!! So she will have to give up hopes of a neighborhood for her friends... lol - I love this and I love watching her play so sweet with her dolls -- she is soo little me!!! I think I played barbies and babies until I was too old to admit this with friends ...those are the days...keep them for as long as you can... She has a friend over today and they are decked out in their costumes and changing baby doll diapers...Cole is desperately trying to get them to be super girl and lava girl -- but they will not give!!! So he become the dr for their dolls...and superman to rescue them!!!
