It looks like my DSLR may have given up the ghost. Recently when I turn the camera on everything will light up and then the camera will instantly turn off. I've tried various trouble-shooting techniques but no matter what it seems to be the same end result.

With yesterday being so amazing... sunny and something like 9°C, to wake up to snow and rain and subtle mixes of more or less of both.

Judging by how often the sump pump is running the ground must be pretty saturated.  At least the whole system seems to be working well.  I don't think my neighbours across the back lane have been quite as lucky...

I've got an install of Debian Linux happening on a scrap-machine behind me... but really... one can only watch a 'net-install for so long!  Alas, poor Slackware... I may be turning from ye.
