First off, I finally got to see McNally Robinson's new Espresso on-demand book making machine!  It wasn't doing any jobs at the time, but it seems they are targeting the machine at not only producing books that may not be on-hand at the time, but also for doing on-demand printing for local authors.  I don't have anything to really say with words, ( Read more... )

Just as the grass we beginning to turn green and the city was cleaning the huge amount of gravel off the streets, we get a spring blizzard.

It rained pretty consistently for the most of yesterday, but as the weather forecasters had predicted that rain has now turned to snow.

With yesterday being so amazing... sunny and something like 9°C, to wake up to snow and rain and subtle mixes of more or less of both.

Judging by how often the sump pump is running the ground must be pretty saturated.  At least the whole system seems to be working well.  I don't think my neighbours across the back lane have been quite as lucky...

This weather is for the birds. I'm glad I'm not traveling, and even the few errands we ran tonight were troubled by my rather sketchy visibility.

Now, if only tomorrow were declared a snow day and we could all stay home... I could use the sleep!

I don't know why I ever tried to quit you.

This is most likely because I don't drive to work, but I thought this morning was particularly beautiful. I love the fog in the street lamps and the hoar frost that has coated everything. It's one of those times when even chain link fences look amazing.

I only wish I had a nice little point-and-shoot camera I could carry with me!

It's not exactly secret knowledge that in winter I seem to have a lot of trouble keeping on my feet.  Well, it's not like I'm falling all the time, but the soles of my work-boots tend to turn into ice sooner than later which eventually results in some catastrophic results.
