One of the issues which continues to be problematical in considering which of the accessible ebook readers to purchase--aside from the large ticket price on these devices--is the fact that, since there are now multiple flavors of Daisy ebook formats, not all of the formats are meant to be played on all readers. Kes: Of course, there are multiple flavors of Daisy at this point, and from what I hav heard, the Bookshare Daisy books don't quite conform to standards, so hopefully these changes will help to make Bookshare ebooks capable of being played on more devices. Two new open source players have been announced in the past two days, Olearia for the Mac and DDReader for Windows, available in Brazilian/Portuguese/English.
