Prior to my knee surgery, the orthopedist measured the circumference of my thighs to see if there was any muscle loss inbetween the intial injury and surgery. Fortunately, they were even. Yesterday was my second to last session of physical therapy. During the session I ran for the first time in 10 months. Well actually I slowly jogged for only two and half minutes, but my whole body weight was being carried by my left leg. I also did five minutes on a stair machine. Three months since my surgery and I am on my way.

Yesterday morning I had been at work fifteen minutes when I fell down hard on my left knee. Of all the knees to land on, I land on the one knee I shouldn't. I don't think any permanent damage was done, but it scared the **** out of me. I sat on the ground in my cubicle for five minutes trying to calm myself down. Three weeks ago I started going to physical therapy.  On my first appointment they measured my mobility in my left leg (how far I can bend and extend my leg).  At that time I could bend my knee 93 degrees and my extension was at -2 degrees. I can now bend my knee a complete 70 degrees.

Today is my first day back to work. By 10:00 am I was ready to go home and take a nap. Sitting here isn't very comfortable and using my brain to analyze these attorney bills isn't an option.  It is time to go home.

EDIT:

I tried to make it to four o'clock this afternoon and it about killed me. If tomorrow is like today I will be leaving much earlier.

I think I saw stretch marks on my foot the other day. The swelling really needs to go down.

It is starting to hit me. I have been lying in bed since Wednesday. This blows. I am sick and tired of looking at the walls in my bedroom and watching dvd's. Dare I say, I would even like to go to work. At least I wouldn't have to be stuck in here anymore and I would be out seeing people.

8:00-9:30 am: Got out of bed, took a shower, shaved my legs in the shower( don't know when I am able to do that again),  went over the hospital arrival instructions,  put on comfortable clothes, and left for Mercy General Hosptal.

10:00 am: Paid to park, arrived at the hospital, checked in with the volunteer, sat in the waiting room until I was ( Read more... )

Nick took me to the hospital yesterday to get my knee fixed. I was going to try and post something about the whole experience, but ti will have to wait. My drugs are kicking in and I am having a hrd time focusing on what I am doing. I should go back and lay down. I will try again latyer.
