So I'm playing with a new angle on an idea I had a couple years back when the characters were called Jayne and Cal. And this is the current opening scene... (which is nothing like my previous idea, but closer to the idea that started the idea in the first place.)

I’m getting my mystery novel ready for cold readers (keep your eyes peeled for that post - one day) so I’m thinking about what comes next. I write daily. And by writing I mean writing or editing, not planning or outlining. And by daily I mean I write on the “thing” I’m writing, which for the past year and a half has been my mystery. Obsessing!

I keep putting off writing sections of my story that are hard for me to write.  Mostly plot-y and action-y sections.  Ok, almost exclusively plot-y and action-y sections.  I build them into unwritable problem spots, thus allowing myself to put off writing them further.
