I just saw Disney's "A Christmas Carol in 3-D." I enjoyed it, but the 3-D effects were definitely what made the movie work. I saw "Wall-E" today. Imaginative, adventurous, and adorable. The movie is a journey of discovery. Wall-E and Eve and even little Mo are so very expressive--you can tell exactly what's going on in their minds. I love Mo's obsessiveness.

It has the most awesome credits ever.

I saw Enchanted on Thursday. The beginning is hilarious, and the end is cute. The dearth of Disney magic has been dispelled.

I saw the Harry Potter movie (Order of the Phoenix) today. It runs about 2.5 hours. Of course, they had to cut subplots and nuances to fit the main story into the timeframe. I really enjoy Brandon Sanderson's books.

His first one, Elantris, is a must-read. I couldn't put it down, it was so compelling.

His second one, Mistborn is a must-read, the difference being that I can put this one down, if only reluctantly. Still, I read till 2 a.m. last night and 5 of my waking hours today, which is a record for me lately ( Read more... )
