Meet the Robinsons review

Jan 25, 2008 01:30

In the encyclopedia under "awesome" is an article about this movie. Or there would be, if the encyclopedia were up to date and it were a perfect world.

Meet the Robinsons is one to add to your collection, folks.

I heard good things, I saw the enormously long wait list at the library, and I rented it instead. Boy, am I glad I did.

I don't even know what it is about this movie that made me like it so much. There's zaniness (always a plus when done correctly), corniness, creepiness, larger-than-life characters, the law of unintended consequences, imagination, insecurity, rejection, dejection--but also messages about hope and love.

The best part for me is a short bit when failure is celebrated as a stepping stone on the way to success. Learn from your mistakes, rather than giving up--it's one of the best messages of the movie.

Recommendation: See it. Buy it. Enjoy it. (You will.)
