A sunny Saturday!
A beautiful day here! We started the day with brunch, then I walked up to one of the nearest towns and met some friends for a walk around the local woodland. The woodland has been around since 1577 as it supplied wood for the ships of Henry VIII and this pond had some magnificent beeches which were brought down in the storms we had in January. You can see one of them near the front of the pond. It was a nice walk - just over mile and a half to walk to town and we managed to clock up four and a half miles around the woodland (13,700 steps so far today).
It was nice to catch up with the group as we are ex-colleagues from my teaching days. After talking to them, I'm so glad I'm no longer teaching! Life as a teacher of 16 year olds and up is pretty stressful at the moment.
This afternoon has been spent 'seasoning' our new pizza oven. It's so compact and works really well - and we've had to fire it up for 30 minutes to get it ready for later. We have friends coming round this evening to sit on the deck and have freshly cooked pizza - I have some sourdough pizza dough ready to make them with (apparently the pizzas can cook in around 60 seconds in the oven - sounds like fun!). I've made tiramisu with an alternative of fresh lemon ice cream (served with fresh raspberries and homemade shortbread) for dessert.
It's been a lovely sociable day!

24. How do you find new music? I listen to the radio, or Youngest Cee often recommends new bands to me which is nice. Occasionally I ask Alexa to recommend something to me and I've found some new music through that.
