icon meme

Comment on this post. I'll choose seven userpics from your profile and you'll reply here (or you know, your own journal, whichever), explaining what they mean and why you're using them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so others can play along. Also, feel free to ask me about my icons here, as well.

jadelennox picked these seven. Now, she knows me very well (which is why I wanted her to do it) so if any of my other icons make no sense to you, feel free to say so in comments.

Or ask me to do this for you, because it's fun!

Mysterious Ways is a fandom anomaly where I'm concerned, since I don't only love a main character, but all three main characters. Their dynamic is so lovely that I couldn't possibly choose a pairing, because it'd mean making the remaining one ALL ALONE, and WAH! So it's my OT3. If you want to know more about the show marcolette has a nice picspam - or you could just be satisfied that it has Adrian Pasdar looking his hottest and two very gorgeous, very intelligent female co-stars, one of whom is the very definition of a geek girl's dream come true.

I use this icon because it's nice to look at hot people, and because sometimes it's nice to be reminded that Pasdar doesn't have to be a slick politician. (Though of course, this is less needed now.)

I actually explained this icon when I created it, not long ago, but I'm more than happy to talk about my favourite subjects. The guy is Shawn Spencer, lead char of Psych, and a hyperactive man-child who likes getting himself into bizarre jams. The bunny is Minihopp, son of Swedish comic figure Bamse's sidekick Lille Skutt, and a hyperactive bunny-child who likes getting himself into bizarre jams. Example of such a jam under the cut, in italics.

This is one of my two recurring icons for Psych posts.

Jonesy *purrs* and the third of my yuletide requests in three icons! I'm so obvious. Anyway, I went into Carnivale in love with Clea Duvall, and came out of it in love with a none too attractive, spitting, dirty 40+ guy who was brave and loyal and really someone you'd want at your side. (Plus, being me, I found that limp dead hot. A pity he lost it.) The quote is from the show - another character called him "the same yellow gimp you always were" and I was so taken in by my love that I went, "Yup. Thank God!"

I actually haven't used this much, since I don't make a lot of Carnivale posts. It's not really applicable for much else.

Every time I'm afraid of death, I try to think of Death - the eldest of the seven Endless in Neil Gaiman's Sandman series. Because it'd be really nice if life ended with a perky, compassionate, amazing girl quoting Mary Poppins at you.

I use this icon for Gaiman posts and to express happiness - at a good fic or a good day or whatever.

Rayanne Graff of My So-Called Life has to be one of the most amazing fucked-up teen girls ever. Everyone of that show was just great, really, but her highs and lows meant so much to me. *hugs Rayanne*

I use this icon primarily to express fatigue, distaste of the world, or that I'm insanely busy. Also for MSCL posts, though I don't make many of those.

This is one of my earliest icons, and I don't use it all that much anymore, since it's pretty but not very specific. It's of Parminder Nagra (of Bend it Like Beckham and ER), one of the most beautiful women in the universe, and I made it at a point where I was pretty much just playing around with FuturePaint to see what I could do.

Also, not entirely on topic, but I'm completely baffled as to why Keira Knightley got stardom and Parminder Nagra got a part in a show no one cares about anymore. She's so very much the better actress.

Hee! Okay, there are maybe half a dozen people on my flist who very much would get this. It's a reference to an X-men movie RPG I'm on called Left Turn at Westchester (where I post much too seldom, because I suck). I play Marrow (avatar Clea Duvall), a child soldier who has the unfortunate mutation of bones sticking out of her body. (Upside is that she can rip them out and stab people with them. Downside is that she has BONES sticking out of her BODY.) In the game, she's separated from her little group of terrorists (most of which have been killed anyway) and comes to the X-men mansion, where she learns to read, NOT stab people with bones, and the arts of sweet looooove - the latter with a young feral cat-boy called Tommy (avatar Vincent Kartheiser, but she's really a lot more like Connor than he is). Their sex life is a little unorthodox, since she's full of sharp edges and he tends to lose his human mind when he's horny, but they're mostly happy together at this point.

Anyway. That's the explanation. As for the use, I use it for RPG posts, but there haven't been a lot of those lately.

bamse, neil gaiman, carnivale, sandman, my so-called life, parminder nagra, mysterious ways, icons, left turn at westchester, psych, meme, x-men
