I watched ep 2x04 yesterday, but I haven't had time to talk about it until now, so:
See, Matt? Now you've broken Molly. Hope your apple pie daddy issues were freaking worth it.
I'm quite amazed at how cool the m³ family unit remains, and I put it all on Molly's shoulders, since neither Mohinder nor Matt worked very well on their own. Let's hope she can work her magic even while unconscious.
Also, I'm starting to wonder if Sendhil and Greg pretending to make out at Comic Con was a deliberate choice so as to prepare the fangirl ground for M/M.
Loved Matt's scenes with the Petrellis. Loved the Petrellis in general, as if that was news. Angela just becomes more formidable the more I see of her. She was amazing this ep, and I really look forward to seeing even more of her in the future. As for Nathan, I soaked in every second of his performance and will probably rewatch the ep to do it again. I'm now even happier that I've watched some eps of Profit this week, because the contrast is so gloriously well-acted that I'm damn near purring. Not to mention that while I do miss the beard, his beardless yet still disheveled look might be the hottest he's ever been. (Though it's a tough choice between that and Declan.)
While the plotline of the 12 older heroes is very intriguing, I've been put off by the fact that this doesn't fit the idea of heroes popping up randomly all over the place. Oh well, maybe the Sureshes were just wrong about that. But furthermore, it doesn't seem to make sense with regards to Kensei - if there were heroes around 400 years ago, there should be a whole lot more of them by now.
I have two potential theories concerning this. The first is that all living heroes are descendants of Kensei - in that case, the older generation will still be a lot more than 12 people, but it's fairly credible that those 12 would be the ones to meet and become the parental generation of (most of) the younger ones.
The second theory is a lot darker and ties into my previous speculations about Kensei as V. In this scenario, the Company did catch Kensei and experiment on him, but not just to heal people - instead, they used him to willingly give others supernatural potential. This treatment would only work on some of their subjects, and these in turn would have some descendants without the abilities (Mohinder, Simone), but altogether enough people would get abilities for the experiment to be considered successful.
Speaking of the new arrivals, they really hit jackpot with Monica. I really hope that they keep her as a regular rather than develop her into awesomeness only to have her killed off or brushed away from the storyline. (See also Charlie, Claude, Hana, late Eden...)
West remains someone they can easily kill off for all I care, though I found him less annoying than usual. It was basically just when he was macking on Claire that I had to fight my urge to shriek ”GET OFF HER, CREEP!” It'll be fun to see what happens once he and Bennet meet properly. Though not as much fun as seeing how this show intends to portray Ukraine. Hee! (Am I weird for wanting a Ruslana cameo?)
And Sylar's on a roadtrip again. At least Maya y Alejandro have more excuses to be clueless than Mohinder did - apart from not being scientists, they've never heard of Sylar. Am also glad that they killed off random guy instead of one of them, since they're both much prettier than him. Yay shallow me!
