Is it terrible to be looking forward to a wake?
My Grandma died in February and her wake is on the 26th of May. I am representing me and my brother as he cannot come because he is on the other side of Canada. So I have to go to Castlegar for 3 days. It means missing two days of work, which is what I am looking forward too, but the wake kind of scares me.
I was in Japan when my Grandad passed on so I had to miss the funeral so really this is my first time dealing with the aftermath of something like this. Much as I loved them, the cat and horse do not count.
I really don't like this getting older thing as it means everyone else is aging around me. I find that terrifying.
Have any of you ever been to a wake? What should I expect?
