Had a moment of doubt at work today, trying to explain to some builders how they had cocked up an important feature wall.  They almost had me convinced it was my fault... then I borrowed their angle grinder, ripped a big hole in the wall and discovered the source of the problem was a bunch of fixings that had been installed wrong.  Showed them ( Read more... )

 Holy Jeebus - This week I have a kitchen/dining room to skim and cornice, three bathrooms to Level 5, another job to sand up, an office wing to Level 4, a sleepout to plaster and my usual amount of books & plans to do.  Next week I have a huge house to cornice, and four two-bedroom units to skim...  thats about 160 hours of work over the next 10- ( Read more... )

 Just so you know, the work I did for Housing NZ in April is still in the process of untangling itself from the red tape so I can invoice them for it.  Apparently my email ended up in a recycling bin in Australia somewhere, and they only just tracked it down.  And they still havnt got codes from their head office to file my work under, so theyre ( Read more... )
