Thomas Miles "Bud" Oxford passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 28, 2011 at the age of 88. He had a wonderful Christmas with his family and had been in good heath and spirits. His wife of 61 years, Patsy Ruth Miller Oxford, passed away in 2008. Bud is survived by his daughters, Judy Jo Oxford and Tomi Sue Topinko; his granddaughters Tanya, Nina and Lea Topinko; great-grandson Guy Thomas Topinko; sister-in-law Paula Latham & family; cousin Alyce Mae Pope; nieces Christy McClellan & family, Brenda Hicks & family, Debbie Locke & family; and nephews Mark Everett and Don, Jeff, Russ & Fred Dorr. Bud "Ox" was a veteran of WWII, having flown a P-38 with the 475th fighter group in the south pacific. He went to all the 475th's reunions over the years, taking place all across the country. He was an avid golfer until recent years, winning many tournaments, holding a course record and having a few hole-in-ones. Bud loved to go bird hunting in his home state of WA, in Mexico, in parts of CA and Argentina. He also enjoyed fishing, in the sea, on the rivers or at the lakes. He fished in many states, but really enjoyed the San Juan River, Cabo and Alaska group trips. Bud enjoyed going to the races in Del Mar and Hollywood Park in CA; and taking trips to Las Vegas. Before moving to Santa Barbara, Bud and Pat raced quarter horses at racetrack parks all up and down the coast from hometown Ferndale, WA to San Diego, CA. They moved to CA in 1954 where Bud then worked in Real Estate, as an agent and broker, for over 30 years in Santa Barbara & Goleta, CA.A memorial / celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 8th from 3-5 at The Montecito Country Club, 920 Summit Road, in Santa Barbara, CA.
