The pain in my left foot is a LOT less, and I now have my roll-about knee walker, so I’m more mobile to get around inside the basement and out to the driveway - but it’s hot enough that I don’t much feel like doing so. Part two of the light posting recently has been that I’ve been up and down a lot due to medical stuff of sorts - more that I’ve been taking a fair amount of stuff, including some powerful antibiotic therapy to Make Sure the Bugs Died and also Lasix for fluid buildup and it’s really knocked me around quite a bit.   As I was saying to folks recently ( Read more... )

Mere has a roller-skating competition in Racine next weekend, and she’s doing better on some things, and is still having trouble on jumps.   She spent most of the day today on Easter-egg work with her old pal Alicia, who she has warmed back up to recently.  Mere was having such a good time with that the plans to hit the movies tonight died…well, ( Read more... )

Went out and got prescription reading glasses today; my prescription is +1.75, and they work very nicely.  Worst part was slipping and falling HARD on the slick tile floor just inside the Vision Works store; as I’ve said before, with my cruddy balance, I learned long ago to fall down the best way I can when I do slip and fall.  Mostly managed to ( Read more... )

About to go to bed - have to wake up and be at the hospital at 6 am for a 8 am surgery on my foot.  They say that the surgery will take around an hour and then I’ll spend an hour in recovery.  I expect to end up back home again noonish, rather groggy.  The biggest probelm is how I’ll get around Monday through Wednesday, since I can’t put ANY weight ( Read more... )

Been having a lot of difficulty with my injured foot over the last few days, and the podiatrist looked at it today and threw in the towel on the course of therapy I’ve been getting since February.  He said it’s opened up deeper, and he’s bascially decided to operate on the thing and fix it by brute force, shall we say…
