I need to get me some fake flowers..
I've been meaning to do this Hunger Games screencap dump since I wrote about seeing the movie, but the dvd just took so long to come out that I got lazy forgot about it.
The Hunger Games was for me what Mad Men is for some people. I had to watch it twice; once to take note of the clothes and once to actually figure out what the movie was about. I loved how the clothes, makeup and hair was matchy-matchy in an eccentric and unconventional sort of way. It makes me want to wear huge bouquets of fake flowers around my neck.
Also I'm in love with Jennifer Lawrence.
I didn't want to be; I wanted to hate that blonde girl with the magnificent body. But I just couldn't. She cracks dry jokes and makes all these different faces in public that it's impossible not to like her.
My favourite outfits of the film were Katniss' 1940-esh dust blue dress, with the little fabric-covered buttons up the front. I see what you did there, Costume Designers, matching the frugalness of the Great Depression with District 12's poverty. Also, Katniss's canary yellow tutu dress, with little arm bows, which got barely any screen time or love.
