My sister called me at 4:40am this morning. She and some friends had taken a taxi to my dad's place after being out clubbing, when she realized that she didn't have any keys. I'm in my second week of internship at the neuro clinic and anxiously awaiting the results from my last exam... I imagine it'll get here by Friday. I celebrated Christmas with my closest family on the 24th. That's the official Christmas day in Sweden. From what I've heard, it's because the original Nordic religions celebrated a form of Yule at that time, so when we switched to Christianity they moved the date to the 24th so it would be more popular ( Read more... )

I got back yesterday evening after spending the weekend in Hälsingland, which is roughly 6 hours with car from where I live. There's a house there which my great-grand father built which now belongs to my dad's aunt, and we get to borrow it when we want to get away for a while. Got back from the island today. Didn't really have a chance to write before now, because just as I got home I had to shower and get ready to go to a protest downtown against the fur industry.
