2017 was a roller coaster. Last Summer, I rode the Georgia Cyclone during the last operating week in its original wooden form. It will reopen this year as a steel-on-wood (RMC) coaster.

Drove down to Florida with Rawr Jesse. Most of the route has become somewhat routine. Didn't have to dig out quarters for tolls, as Georgia's Peach Pass now works on Florida's toll roads too ( Read more... )

Disney's "Robin Hood" appeared in my Netflix recommendations the other day, so I re-watched the film. As I watched, I got a costume idea for this year's Megaplex theme - Cops & Robbers.

If someone told me a year ago that I'd be going to FC in 2014, I'd have laughed at the notion. FC was certainly on the bucket list, but wasn't on the radar for the near-term. A comment from Hux back on October set things in motion and from there things just fell into place.

Got the final ok from the boss and booked a room at the Hilton. FC is on! :O

The other day I stopped by Guitar Center, armed with a measuring tape. Did you know that a 16" tom drum case has a diameter of 20"? Go figure. Sooo glad that I didn't buy the even-more-massive 18" tom case online!

My attempts to get a room for DragonCon 2014 were a bust thanks to Passkey. Passkey is a group hotel booking tool used by a number of hotels & events. Unfortunately, it suffers much the same scaling issues as healthcare.gov. After getting all the way to the confirmation page, it throws a DB error and I'm left with no reservation. $%&#!
