I was out on SJA duty this afternoon at Selhurst (Crystal Palace vs Sheffield Wednesday). It was fairly quiet from a first aid perspective, but it was also surprisingly cold/windy. In brief, today has been a good day. The theatre trip was a lot of fun, and I'm definitely going to see the RSC's other plays (Shakespeare/History of America). In one of life's bizarre coincidences, I bumped into Simon there (former flatmate), so it was good to catch up with him again.

E.g. my "student welcome pack" from Durham (in 1992), which contains various coupons, all of which expired several years ago... Been a fairly calm couple of days. Did my weekly comics run yesterday, and there's some good stuff coming from Vertigo (the Sandman people) at the moment. Got the latest issue of "Fables", and the third "Lucifer" paperback. I think I'll need to start cutting back on the number of comics I buy when I start my MSc, but both of those are secure. Pretty good day at work yesterday. One of my applications (data cruncher) is currently taking a long time to run - about 17 hours for half a million records. However, I've got an idea to speed it up, so that it should take less than an hour. I'll try my theory out on Monday. Well, been a couple of fairly easy days at work. I'm training other guys, which has now got to the minion stage. Well, I've achieved a couple of things so far this weekend. Done a bit of tidying, and found a few pieces of paper under my bed while I was flipping the mattress.
