It's fairly well known in my little condo area that there are several deer living in the woods surrounding our units.  But I don't often see them.

It's snowing today, and our office closed.

This is in and of itself a rare occurrence.  Usually, they stay open but give everyone a "free" couple of hours to get in, or close early.

Let's see, when last I posted about the furnace, I'd gotten a new exhaust flue.

That was that Wednesday morning. The other furnace related event of the day was to be the annual cleaning/inspection.  I had, cunningly I thought, scheduled the two events for the same day.

I delayed buying a home for years and years and years.

Five years ago, almost to the day,  I decided to buy this condo.  I'd visited the site all summer, I'd dragged friends and family to see them, I took advice from various folks, and then a friend of mine was visiting and I drove him through the site and found myself saying that I was going to buy here rather than, "I'm thinking of buying here."

Well, the re-construction got finished a couple of weeks ago.  I'm gradually getting used to the new colors.  The big difference is dark brown where I was used to seeing very pale taupe.

I had something like 14 big boxes full of Kitchen Stuff.  Baking pans, cooking pans, china, glassware, wine glasses, silverware, vases, food, all sorts of things ( Read more... )

Well, here it is, a few weeks on.

On the upside, the blowers and mega-dehumidifier have been taken away and the cabinets and big countertop moved from the living room and garage respectively.  The stove has been returned to the kitchen from the hallway and plugged in, so, in theory, I can cook.

As some of you know, I have battled what I euphemistically call "plumbing issues" in my new-ish condo for a couple of years.

It began in January 2006, when I had been living there for about 7 months.
