The New Guys of TV Land

So the Wine & Cheese Expo I went to a couple weeks ago at La Piazza was fabulous. I got to indulge in some wine-tasting, and my folks even brought a couple home. The event is part of my city's annual Food & Fashion Festival that features cooking demos and seminars by prominent worldwide chefs and food critics from places like Italy, Canada and the States. I'm supposed to come back tomorrow for the closing event with my buddy Cindy but it seems like we'll be hanging at the Central Park mall instead, which is cool :)

I just want to give my final FU to the religious morons who are responsible for the cancellation of Lady Gaga's concert. It's a very secular and modern country I'm living in. Way to ruin that reputation, idiots!! Now I'm happy to deny it as my actual birthplace. Obviously, if the whole 52.000 tickets were sold out that's gotta say something about her popularity over here. I mean she's THE Lady Gaga! Too bad there are more radical conservatives out here who would revert to violence just to get their way (they claim to have brought more than 150 tickets to the show just to target Gaga, her crew and all the Little Monsters), so even with the tight security, the promoter Big Daddy just can't take any chances. She's promoting tolerance and diversity, and these so-called holy people are posing death threats on her. To quote Gaga's recent tweet: "There's nothing holy about hatred"! Shame on them!

On a lighter note, I'm super-stoked about the new CDs I own. FLAWLESS! ;)
* Kris Allen - Thank You Camellia
* Adam Lambert - Trespassing (Deluxe Edition)
* Carrie Underwood - Blown Away
It turns out my friend Ryo has been having too much fun with my Listen Up pack that he has pre-ordered for me, so I'll have to wait 'til it arrives next week since he just sent it a couple days ago, but it's cool he's now a Halien LOL

MEN AT WORK - TBS

No, I'm not guilty of admitting I'm addicted to this unique male version of Sex and the City. The second and third episodes really improved upon the pilot, and the show itself makes the early promos look ridiculous, so I'm all for the ride :) It's NOT by any means perfect or even all-out funny, but it does have a heart.

Earlier on, I've been thinking of it as the kind of show that's fun to witness the entire summer, then the actors can call it off and move on to other roles. But now that we're 3 episodes in, I actually dig these four guys and their SUPER-CUTE bromance that I want them to stick around for a 2nd season (just cut off the hideous laugh track, okay). LOL. They still can work on Fall shows or some movies, but Men at Work deserves to have at least one or two more seasons, provided the writing doesn't get worse.

Many critics and audiences got it right - it's the chemistry among the cast that actually make the show work. Of course, it's also giving me lots of Michael Cassidy fantasies... Michael in vests, classy suits and leather jackets? Now that's so sexy! :)

The guys....
Milo - I like his sensitivity and central presence :) He's definitely the Carrie Bradshaw of the group.
Gibbs - Cool and smooth is how he plays it. I wonder if he'll ever settle on just one gal, though.
Tyler - He's so ambitious and hardworking, but he should find himself a lady and fall in love for real. LOL.
Neal - I don't want him to be the standard nerd, considering Adam Busch really shined on Buffy the Vampire Slayer so I hope Neal has more cool things to do.
