"Listen Up" Preview
Haliens can throw a countdown party now that May 22 is drawing near. What's even better is... a 90-second clip of every track from Listen Up is finally available for you to preview! If you prefer iTunes, here's the link to the Deluxe version.
I must say it's the perfect combo of mainstream and retro! All the hooks are just catchy and at times intense and fiery. Overall, the style is a mixture of Duffy, Amy Winehouse and Natalie Imbruglia (more from her Left of the Middle album). If these ladies are right up your alley, Haley will deliver ;)
Some tunes are reminiscent of those chic noir/thriller films with a femme fatale-type protagonist (imagine Haley as one- LOL):
* Liar
* Keep Coming Back
* Oh My (featuring B.o.B.)
I heart every single track, especially the 3 I mentioned above, followed by:
* Spiderweb (only in the Deluxe version, but it really is radio-friendly with its intense pop/rock sound)
* Wonderland (playfully dreamy)
* Now That You're Here (it has a Maroon 5 vibe)
* Undone (I can see this making the cut on The Vampire Diaries's most emotional, heart-wrenching scene)
Also, don't forget to grab a copy of Adam Lambert's Trespassing (it's almost out) and tune in to the premiere of Men at Work next week :)
