favorite vid moments, part 2
A long overdue continuation of this list:
Growin Up by sweetestdrain (Supernatural) - 0:11 - This is one of my very favorite vids for motion, and that book sets the whole thing in motion. Ready, set, GO.
Window of Opportunity by heresluck (Wonderfalls) - 1:52 - the cow creamer head falls and sets the balls in motion. This vid was one of the first I ever saw when I started exploring the work of my now-group-of-friends, and that moment grabbed me right away as a great use of motion. (The flying baby later is always good for a laugh, too, of course.)
Papa Don't Preach by greensilver and fan_eunice (Torchwood/DW) - 1:55 - "papa don't preach" as Ten holds his hand up to say "shh". This vid is consistently hilarious all the way through, but that moment always tickles me so much.
Wasteland by bananainpyjamas (Spiderman) - 0:17 - the police cars crash, cut to Peter flipping on the brick wall. DAMN. That sequence kills me. DC is the queen of motion, and this vid is excellent proof as to why. I can't wait to see this on the big screen at VVC.
Change (in the house of flies) by obsessive24 (Smallville) - 2:32 - Lex breaking the glass - It's really tough to pick a favorite moment in this, one of my favorite vids of all time, but that one in particular made my heart stop the first time I saw this vid.
There's Too Much Light in This Bar by absolutedestiny (Life on Mars) - 2:17 - "walks, no wait, swaggers" - Brilliant. This whole vid is fucking brilliant, actually, but that part makes me giddy.
My Hero by bradcpu (Heroes) - 1:42 to 1:49 - Okay, I'm cheating here, but Brad breaks the rules of awesome, so it's okay. The spinning camera into the roulette wheel is fantastic, as is the shot of Hiro and Ando in front of the banner that bursts to life. SO damn cool.
Goodnight Moon by bradcpu (Heroes) - 2:01 - Speaking of Brad, his use of Mr. Muggles running on that creepy descending line is genius, particularly this use here in the middle of the vid.
Song of Truth by bradcpu (Firefly) - 2:35 - While I'm having Bradfest 2008, a moment of squee for Inara blowing out the incense and Serenity's glow together.
Snakes on a Plane by dualbunny (Harry Potter) - 2:36 - shoot, flip, turn. LOVE. IT.
American Baby by sockkpuppett (Friday Night Lights) - 1:28 - Tami dancing, then the cheerleaders dancing. I love the way the smooth motion matches the sustained vocals, then capped with the two-punch of the dance on the guitar chords. So perfect.
Rodeohead by absolutedestiny (Firefly) - 1:37 - "we ride tonight" - This entire vid is spectacular, so why this one segment stands out for me, I don't really know. But it does! I love the juxtaposition of Mal on the horse against Serenity zooming across the sky, and even more, how the ship turns and smoothly segues into everyone riding back in the other direction. I love that.
Moons of Jupiter by fan_eunice (Doctor Who) - 1:55 - That turning dance on the beat makes my heart SO HAPPY.
Ecstatic Drum Trip by sockkpuppett (Farscape) - Okay, to hell with the rules. There really is no one especially amazing moment for me here. The entire thing is amazing. It's one of the best vids ever made, period. If you ask me.
