...for my first peer-reviewed journal article has been published and I have received a hard copy in the mail. This is the hurrah. The doh comes from the fact that of every group of 4 pages, the 3rd and 4th are blank. Just, oops, sorry, no text. Bad copy editors, bad! At least the pdf file available on their website is alright.

...for the first draft of chapter four of my thesis is now done. w00t. w00t, I say.

There's something deliciously baroque about writing thesis chapter drafts while listening to the gorgeous viennese waltz rhythm-ed music of Corteo. ...for I have just finished up the manuscript of the journal article I've been working on for the last few months with the professor I truly adore in our department. I shall get it formatted and submitted to Cognition, and lo, it shall be done! (Well, for the time being, anyway.)

...co-writing sessions with my language learning professor on our joint article make me oh-so-happy. I love how new ideas that actually connect nicely with my main thesis topic keep surfacing. If only academia were always like this, I'd be far more willing to put up with the sucky job market. Hee. Yay, academic writings!

...say I! I've just spent the last two hours co-editing a joint paper with my super-fabulous professor. And it was a good editing session - complete with giggling, wry remarks, and references to Wile E. Coyote.

There really are days that I love collaborating, I swear it.

Also, bonus points that this is effectively a chapter in my thesis.

I just got word that the journal article I submitted for the third time has been accepted to $prestigious_peer_reviewed_journal. Oh, hell, yeah!

Now, I just have to make the formatting work and a few minor changes. But it's been accepted. I win! Glee!
