There is apparently a MD Faerie Festival happening May 21st down in Upper Marlboro. It is close kin to the PA one that I went to last year (and missed this year, tsk), which included such things as chocolate mint soap, delicious belly-dancing with sword balancings, glitter in many varieties, and delightful music.

...because spending time with regyt always makes me think of Story. This is most likely because of her view that one's life is a Story and the best thing to do is make sure it's filled with interesting characters and that it's a good read.

...Fairie Festival up in PA was not, as feared, infested with scads of people wandering around in tutus going "I'm a fairy princess - weee!" Which is not to say there weren't some. They are releasing a new version of Labyrinth. It is a boxed set. It has ten additional minutes - or so claims this ebay auction (I know, probably of scenery or something - but damn it, 10 extra minutes of Labyrinth is 10 extra minutes.) Very, very occasionally, I am inundated by an unaccountably strong wave of superiority. This is one of those moments. Actually, this afternoon has been one long, extended moment. I feel vaguely guilty about it because that sort of arrogance can be dangerous, but then again, it's all very Jarethian.

I love the feeling of otherworldliness that occurs at dark o'clock on some nights. It's a feeling of magic, of connection, some almost-reachable enlightenment. Tonight, it was spurred on by a conversation with my vulpine love, a closing of feathers and foxe-fur. If I had poetry in me for that, it would have started with feathers and foxe-fur.
