When did text messaging become the main form of communication? What happened to just calling some one on the phone?
I started really wondering it when I saw a story on the news about a family that got an over 400 page cell phone bill, that had over 14000 text messages on it, most by there daughter who looked around 13 or 14. Luckily, they had a unlimited textr plan, so it did not cost them more than they normally wold have paid.
But, where did she find all the time to do that many messages in one month? I barely have time to put posting on LiveJournal. Is it really more convenient to text that talk to someone? I can think of situations where you just can't talk on the phone and texting is the better alternative, but not for all conversations.
Maybe I am just showing my age. But, I will admit I am not fighting the change. I do have a phone that I can text on and I changed my phone plan to have unlimited text b/c I have relatives and friends that communicate that way and I was tired of hitting keys 3 times to get to the right letter.
I was just wondering.
