Watched "Invictus", the film about Nelson Mandella and how he drew South Africa closer together through Rugby at the end of the apartheid, for the first time today. Amazing. Uplifting. I was shopping tonight and some interaction with a Hispanic woman made me realize something-- If you're white they* first assume that you don't speak Spanish... and then they* expect you to speak Spanish. I am highly amused the Federal Court has put a gag order on Pima County Sheriff Dupnik. Why? Because he is an idiot. This morning, on the way to work, I was listening to talk radio and the topic was how Tucson Unified School District was starting new race-based discipline... where if you're white you get a more severe punishment than a minority because minorities get into trouble more often... and we don't want to hurt their feelings ( Read more... )
