It has been slow progress through the series for me, so many other obligations and attractions for reading having absorbed my time. However, here I am nearing the end of Book 14, The Nutmeg of Consolation, and I had to post an observation.

Finished Book 5 last week and purchased Book 6. Haven't had time to start, but the ending on 5 certainly seemed very unresolved, despite the main conflict of Herapath and Wogan finally being resolved. Loved the interaction of Bonden and Stephen at the end. Classic characters, and looking forward to seeing them on film.

Currently I'm in Chapter 8 Of Book 5, Desolation Island.

The iceberg incident has intrigued me, and Babbington never ceases to amaze me in his continued maturity. And as much as I had longed to read about women on board, I have to say I will not dread the day Mrs Wogan has departed. Like the captain, I, too, miss Tom Pullings dearly.

Have decided obriansnavy instead of being a role-playing format will be a discussion community. I feel we can have more participation that way without alienating folks.
