Tack Upon Tack.
It has been slow progress through the series for me, so many other obligations and attractions for reading having absorbed my time. However, here I am nearing the end of Book 14, The Nutmeg of Consolation, and I had to post an observation.
I saw a bit of the foreshadowing for it, but I guess I missed seeing it until it was more explicitly shown that Jack would have a conflict with Martin. Jealousy. And I never thought that Jack would be a jealous man with regards to his friends, but I guess since he and Stephen have been so close and have spent so much time together, he has grown used to the routine. I am intrigued, to say the least, and I am looking forward to seeing where O'Brian takes this plotline.
