Beginners really is a fine film.  I enjoyed it when it first came out - I had lived in Atlanta for about a month and I braved the traffic into Midtown to see the one theater that was playing it opening weekend.  Mind you, I had refused to brave Atlanta traffic to see my best friend for YEARS.  But c'mon.  EWAN ( Read more... )

And why is he so smug?

Because Salmon Fishing the Yemen just spent its second week in the top 10 in the U.S. box office.  That fact alone is nifty, but it's downright impressive when you consider it's only showing in 524 theaters across the country.  The closest top 10 film in terms of theater-count is showing on over 2,600 (Titanic 3D, I think).

The Good

Or rather, the tasty.  I'm going through 2 food addictions right now.  I can't seem to get enough orange Fanta down my throat.  Pure calories, pure indulgence.  But it's sooooo good.  I even chose a Fanta over a Coca-Cola yesterday (*gasp*).  Also, now that spring is upon us (and I'm resenting it vigorously), the Easter candy is everywhere ( Read more... )
