Beginners really is a fine film.  I enjoyed it when it first came out - I had lived in Atlanta for about a month and I braved the traffic into Midtown to see the one theater that was playing it opening weekend.  Mind you, I had refused to brave Atlanta traffic to see my best friend for YEARS.  But c'mon.  EWAN

I know what you mean... It's that rare emotional innocence, a vulnerability that makes him all the more endearing. And you're right, he displayed that in S&B but in a different way. I loved Beginners from the get go. Me it's not ML's hair that bothers, it's GV's!!! Could he look more ridiculous? I had been looking forward to his role as the gay love interest... But I had not expected to see a poorly dressed & groomed gay man. Most of the gay men I know are proud of their appearance, even if they're not all Adonis!

I better STFU now, obviously I'm pmssing.

Ewan was so good in this film. Highly under-rated...

Ewan was brilliant in Beginners. *sighs* he's so handsome and he seemed more grown up to me in this film

and I didn't like Melanie that much either. she was alright but I think they could have found someone even better
