So, I'm playing Sims again. It's a thing I seem to go back to periodically, and have done so since Sims 1 with no expansions. I escaped to a coffee shop with wifi (without the kids) and got about 1.5k words written in Five Minutes to Midnight including the scene that I think everyone who is reading it is waiting for. So... YAY. I'm happy with it as a first draft but there are so many people with so many feels all at once that it's harder to juggle than I'd anticipated.

So I may have found my Sims2 disk yesterday. And I may have made a neighborhood entitled Fox River. And I may have utterly destroyed any chance of productivity in my life for the near future.

 There is a HILARIOUS fake Sims 3 Star Trek promo on the official Sims 3 site. I wish I could give a direct link or embed it, but the site doesn't allow for either. Just skim through the vids and you should find it easily enough... it'd be the only one with people in Star Trek uniforms.

 I am... wildly underwhelmed by Sims 3. There are so, so many things that are either poorly thought out (households you aren't actively playing can just 'move out of town' and delete themselves from your game?) or flat out buggy (toddlers can't play together? wtf? you can't place new lots? My computer is beyond dead. The format went fine but then I went and tried to delete msn messenger that came with the damn windows disk and... apparently deleted something important. I can't even get it to reformat now. It's THAT dead. Am prob just going to steal my husband's desktop, which he never uses anyhow, but we'll see... in short... I'm ( Read more... )

So, apparently Sims 2 has a maximum number of walls you can have on a lot (not levels, I knew that. But... walls. Like, actual wall tiles). This is lots of fail  because in my grand attempt to build the mother of all apartment complexes in order to house my entire RPG student roster in one lot (thereby allowing sheer awesome insanity to ensue, ( Read more... )
