  Iona was amazing, revelatory, thought-provoking, and unexpected. First of all, when I visited the island 7 years ago (has it really been that long?!), the tour of the Abbey said that it was ‘still a working community’ which lead me to believe that it was still a benedictine Abbey. In which a town the size of Boulder has only 2 liquor stores. Absolutely amazing. The trip was a ton of fun, minus sleeping in the living room and periodically wanting to claw the eyes out of a few micromanaging mothers. Zion National Park is absolutely spectacular, and it's definitely better to go in the winter when it isn't full of overweight ( Read more... )
