The second of the Holiday Party was hosted by the company I work for. This time I hosted a fashion walk titled Walk With Pride. We had a Diwali party a month ago at work (check my post here) and everyone liked the theme. We picked the same theme but tweaked it a bit to suit the audience here. All in all it turned out well.

Even in freezing rain and be it an indoor gathering, when good friends meet its always a moment in sunshine. This song reflects the sentiments perfectly where a few girlfriends are having a summer beach day out. We had the sun radiating all around in the form of fun and laughter. :)

We had another Diwali party at work. This time around it was our department hosting a Diwali-Thanksgiving Potluck inviting everyone to enjoy the yummy food and also socialize with colleagues that you don’t get to meet every day, building relationships. We celebrated Diwali as a global event at our work place on this day. Not only we had food and entertainment we also had a booth showcasing the different clothing articles that people could try on and take pictures and a display table that showed different items of Diwali as well as India. We had a wonderful picnic retreat organized by the company I work for the same day we had Ganesh Chathurthi (the previous day). After the festivities at our respective homes were done, it was perfect way to end the day with friends and colleagues. It was an evening filled with several parties, one at work and one at a friend's home. First a Social Networking event at my work. It was a pleasure to meet so many off-work when one don’t get to meet them often. Followed by BBQ at my friend's home. This year I participated in the Dragon Boat Festival as a rower for one of the boats under Community Division Racing representing the company I work for. We had a total of 63 boats participated as part of this race. All amateur teams who would have no more than 2 practices prior to the race and 90%of them are non-professional rowers. Sitting in a two day training made me think of this 2009 hit Hindi movie titled 3 Idiots, that showed a new twist to the education system. A sytem, be it in any country, concentrates mainly on mainstream subjects than any other aspect like sports and art.
